What are oral hygienists?

They provide educational, clinical and therapeutic services to their patients so that they can achieve optimum oral health. These services include adaption of current home care practices for effective oral care results.
How often do you see an oral hygienist?
Patients that are susceptible to gum disease should have a recall interval of no more than 3 months. In many cases 3 monthly visits are appropriate for the majority of patients, although periodontal maintenance needs to be suited to every individual patient's needs.
